CARBON FIBER STRENGTHENING

Carbon fiber can add tremendous strength and durability to existing structural members without taking up the precious space in different types of structures such as office and parking facilities.

Carbon fiber is a technology that is becoming widely used in the construction industry, for good reason. Carbon fiber may be the solution that is both simple, as it’s least burdensome from a construction schedule stand point, and cost effective in materials. Carbon fiber added to existing structures can not only extend the life of your investment, it can also add flexibility to the original design of the structure. Either turning industrial space to residential, industrial to educational facilities or bringing a bridge up to the current necessary loads, carbon fiber is durable and affordable, making it an excellent solution for the right project.

The carbon fiber strengthening technique can be extremely important for older structures which have experienced usual corrosion and deterioration over time. When elements of these properties decay it puts them at risk for further breakdown and major safety issues in the future. The damage can also make the problem areas appear rickety and unpleasant. Carbon fiber strengthening is a long-lasting solution that can be custom fitted to each property. It is applied in whatever length necessary for the most support, which means our experts at D&R Masonry Restoration can give you exactly what you need for keep everything stable.

The service is a fantastic choice because it can be applied long after original construction, it doesn’t have a lot weight so it doesn’t put unnecessary pressure onto old beams, looks neat, doesn’t take up space, works well under numerous different conditions and in many applications, and can seriously stand the test of time. This means it can be a great method to use for anyone who wishes to reinforce their project in advance. Building standards obviously move forward and change over time, so improving your site from the get go will help keep it up to date and ahead of the curve.

By improving the seismic withstanding capabilities of sites, carbon fiber strengthening allows your property to feel safer while retaining its signature style, look, and feel. The service can work with walls, beams, and much more, including columns, bridges, and slabs. Because of this, carbon fiber strengthening can also be useful for increasing the load bearing capacity of older structures which were created to different standards. This is obviously particularly helpful for bridges, parking garages, and other similar projects. If you’re getting more traffic than you used to and want to enhance your property’s capabilities, carbon fiber strengthening is what you need.

D&R Masonry Restoration did carbon fiber strengthening services for the Oregon Health and Science University in 2016.

If you aren’t sure whether or not your property is secure and wish to consider carbon fiber strengthening, we’d love to help. Our teams with experience can scope out the project to understand what it will take to get your property in its best condition possible. We want you to be able to be safe, happy, and secure in the knowledge that your building is able to remain strong for years to come. Give us a call today!
